Debra FerulloВ knows a thing or two about makeup. She frequently works with celebrities like Heidi Klum, Jaime King, and Kate Hudson. To top it off, she has been Drew Barrymore's go-to artist for years. Ferullo even helped theВ Santa Clarita DietВ star develop the formulas for the initial launch of Barrymore's brandВ Flower Beauty.В

Ferullo is no stranger to luxury brands like Cle de Peau, Chanel, and YSL. “For a long time, the only good makeup available was the expensive stuff, but that's not the case anymore,” she told us when she stopped by our office. “Now you can find some really beautiful products at the drugstore.” That's good news for those of us who like a bargain without sacrificing quality.

Today, Ferullo is helping us here at Byrdie with just that: finding the best drugstore concealers. We laid out everything from sticks and pots, to liquids and creams so she could determine the best of the best.

Keep reading for Ferullo's top drugstore concealer choices and what makes each formula stand out.

Covergirl TruBlend Fix Stick Concealer $8Shop

“This one is great for pretty much anything you need to conceal,” Ferullo says about Covergirl's TruBlend formula. “The stick makes it really easy; you could use it for spots, dark circles, and any area that you need to brighten.” While the TruBlend Fix Stick Concealer is discontinued, we know Ferullo would love the liquid version of the TruBlend Undercover Concealer ($11). The formula is just as light-weight and blends seamlessly into even the driest of skin.

Maybelline Cover Stick Concealer $6Shop

“The packaging isn't the best on this one, so it makes me not want to like it, but it has really good coverage!” Ferullo says of the classic stick formula from Maybelline. It's one she reaches for when she needs to cover blemishes, most likely because it comes in a few color correcting shades. While we agree it provides great coverage, the flesh-toned concealers in the range is limited. If you are looking for an alternative with the same amazing benefits of the Cover Stick, we recommend the Maybelline Fit Me Concealer ($6).

Revlon PhotoReady Candid Antioxidant Concealer $10Shop

We weren't surprised this concealer made the top of Ferullo's list. Tested under the harshest lighting conditions, this concealer is undetectable-perfect for covering up a pesky blemish without anyone being the wiser. Not to mention the PhotoReady Candid concealer comes in 15 shades (which is rare for a drugstore brand).

Physicians Formula Super CC Concealer $9Shop

This concealer from Physicians Formula is another discontinued choice that Ferullo could not stop playing with. “This is basically YSL's Touche Éclat at an affordable price,” she told us. “It's perfect for brightening under your eyes. This would definitely help if you're feeling tired and you just need a little pick-me-up.” If you want an alternative that mimics the cult-loved YSL concealer, try the L'Oreal True Match Super-Blendable Multi-Use Concealer ($13).

Neutrogena 3-in-1 Concealer for Eyes $10 $7Shop

If you prefer to put your concealer on with a brush or sponge, reach for this 3-in-1 option from Neutrogena. Ferullo loved the medium texture for under the eye area, but it does require a little more work since it's in a small tube. “It even has SPF,” she says. If you can't find a shade that works best for you, try the brands Hydro Boost Hydrating Concealer ($15). It offers up a few more color selections and is super moisturizing.

Flower Beauty Secret Service Cover Up Concealer $9Shop

“Don't worry,” Ferullo told us as we got to Flower Beauty's offerings. “My contract is up, and I can be totally unbiased. This one brightens and covers dark spots really well,” she says about the brand's Secret Service Cover-Up Concealer. “It gives the skin under your eyes a little boost.”

Like most good things, this concealer is no longer available. Flower Beauty still has a brilliant concealer that we highly recommend called theВ Light Illusion Full Coverage ConcealerВ ($10). It provides a bit more coverage than the Secret Service formula, but still brightens while hiding those stubborn dark circles.
