Another summer has come and gone, and while we're still slightly weeping (and sweating, let's be honest), we can't help but look forward to an entirely new season.В Quite possiblyВ the most exciting one? Fall. While we aren't here to toutВ pumpkin spice lattes and apple-picking, we can stand behind all the makeup shades associated with the season. Yes, that's right. We're talking all the usual suspects including berry, brown, and copper, plus a few newbies like black rose and burnt orange.В
With that in mind, we made an epic list of all our favorite fall makeup colors and the products we think you should add to your arsenal ASAP. Because, truly, what's a new season if it doesn't include a fun, fresh overhaul of your makeup products?В Below, find our favorites and why we love 'em.
Black Rose
Black rose is this fall's maroon, sanguine, and oxblood of seasons past.В It'sВ the perfect balance between brick red and purple, as it complements your skin tone without overpowering anything else. Sure, the color isn't groundbreaking (its predecessors have been our fall go-tos for practically a decade), but the crisp, leafy season wouldn't be the same without something a little dark and moody. In contrast with summer's lighter offerings, this color is exactly what we need to transition to the cooler temperatures. Plus, with new and innovative products to try, the shade has never felt fresher. We'll wear it on our eyes, lips, and cheeks and never look back.

Berry
Much like black rose, berry has been a September staple for a while, only growing in popularity with each year. This season's variety is a slightly rosier, pinkish tone with hints of plum. It'll warm up your face while still keeping things natural-looking, with a flush that feels windswept on your cheeks and just-bitten on your lips. The products come with all types of finishes-from shimmersВ to mattes to stains-and we refuse to draw a line in the sand. We'll take one of each.

Copper
Frosted ginger, ripe peach, and burnishedВ copper are tailor-made for fall, allowing you to play up all those warm, Western vibesВ you've had to say sayonara to over the summer. It's sun-kissed but woodsy and reminiscent of the fallen leaves once they turn. Can't you practically hear the crunch under your boots with each passing step? We're here for one of our favorite shades in a ton of new formulas and finishes. Be it gel, gloss, powder, or cream.

Rose Gold
Rose gold is like berry's shimmery, sassier, younger sibling.В Think trendy sophistication rather than classic coloring. It's a bitВ sheerer, so the wash of petal pink and golden metallics creates unbelievable dimension on your skin,В maintaining a bit of summer glowВ on any skin type or tone. It's like a flute of champagne with a raspberry thrown in-fancy and fun.

Brick
Take all the candy-coated reds you've been glossing on and blending out during summer and shift to a slightly darker variety. Brick red is reminiscent of fireplaces and subsequent hot cocoa in all the best, most nostalgic ways. It's your favorite true red with a bit of velvety brownВ or some flecks of gold. It'll take you right through winter, too, if you're not trying to spend a lot on new, seasonal makeup.В

Honeycrisp Red
Don't worry, folks. Bright apple reds are still very much a thing come fall, so hang on to your favorites. The air can feel just as crisp in a true red as it does in blackberry, and it'll brighten up your whole face as a result. This season, though, don't just stick to painting your lips. Add color to your lids and cheeks too for a red vinyl finish or a just-went-for-a-jog after-glow.В

Burnt Orange
Transition all your sunset-inspired looks to fall with a bit of very literal inspiration from candle-lit pumpkins. Burnt orange works as a varnished alternative to pink andВ Creamsicle, allowing for a toned-down, earthy version of your summertime favorites. Mix and match a bunch of colors to get it right, or purchase just one signature favorite to carry you through the holidays.В

Brown Suede
The leathery, soft feeling of suede mixed with flattering, cocoa shades is pure fall perfection. Show off the color with a creamy, unexpected lip color or for a twist on a smoky eye with warm browns and cinnamon hues. It's spicy, pretty, and just about everything you need out of an autumn-inspired makeup shade.

Sapphire
Jewel tones are so rich and vivid, like velvet and raw silk. It's only natural sapphire would end up on the list of must-haves-a sparkling version of the usual navy blue. Pair it with other jewel-like colors (including garnet and emerald) or let it shine on its own with a mostly natural look and one shimmering pop of color.

Slate Gray
Slate gray is an unexpected choice but one we can't wait to get into nonetheless. It'sВ sultry without being over-the-top and modern without all the shimmer. We're looking for lips, eyes, and highlights all in shades of gray this season, and we're thinking you should too.В

FYI: Here are 15 cool fall lipstick colors you probably don't already own.
